Digital Curation & IPTV Project

Beyond the Library: Media Preservation and Broadcast Emulation.

This project transforms a standard media server into a dynamic hub for digital preservation and a platform for emulating nostalgic broadcast television, all powered by a suite of automated tools.

The Curated Library

My Plex library houses a core collection of favorite films and classics, managed alongside requests from friends and family through Overseerr. However, a significant focus of this project is digital preservation.

I actively curate and preserve a special collection of Puerto Rican cinema and documentaries, ensuring this important cultural content is maintained and accessible. This effort extends to archiving and restoring old television shows that might otherwise be lost.

Nostalgic Broadcast Emulation

To recreate the experience of classic television, I emulated a vintage Adult Swim channel. This involved sourcing and integrating all of its iconic bumps, idents, and commercials to be programmatically inserted between shows and during commercial breaks.

This creates an authentic, nostalgic viewing experience that goes beyond simple media playback, replicating the unique flow and character of early 2000s television.

24/7 IPTV Channels

Using tools like ErsatzTV and DizqueTV, I engineered custom IPTV channels that broadcast my curated content on a 24/7 schedule.

I program a schedule for these channels, which then re-broadcast the shows as a live feed. This allows me to tune in anytime from within Plex and watch what's "currently airing," effectively creating my own personal, always-on television network from my archived media.
